Three of world motorsport’s biggest living stars, F1’s Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz and MotoGP’s Marc Marquez, have paid tribute to Rafael Nadal after the tennis legend announced his retirement from the courts after two decades.

The stars of the Grand Prix said goodbye to the great star of the Grand Slam. At the age of 38, one of the greatest athletes in the history of world tennis, the great Rafael Nadal, announced yesterday (10/10) his retirement from active action.

Rafa leaves with 22 Grand Slam titles, 36 Masters 1000 titles, 92 ATP titles and more than 1,000 career wins. He is the 5th most successful tennis player of all time.

A few hours after the publication of the VIDEO with which Nadal announced his retirement, two-time Formula 1 world champion Fernando Alonso wrote on Instagram: “Thank you for everything, Rafa. All the best for the future.”

Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz, for his part, said: “I have nothing but admiration for you and your work over the years. Thank you for every point you fought to win, and for the unforgettable moments you made us live on and off the court.

You are a source of pride for our country and a forever standardas an athlete and as a person. I hope you enjoy the new year and continue to create your legend”Carlos concluded.

At the same time, brothers Mark and Alex Marquez, MotoGP stars, also praised Rafa. Mark said that Nadal “it’s a point of reference for everyone” and Alex that he is “a reference point, an indlama. I still remember, when I was a child, how this boy from the Manacor he fought for his dreams and gave us all the courage. Rafa will be forever. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!”.

Finally, a non-Spanish F1 driver, Esteban Ocon, had some touching words for the 14-time Roland Garros winner: “You had an amazing career and were an inspiration to me and all athletes of this generation. Thank you for everything Rafa”wrote the Frenchman.
