Ducati once again annihilated the competition in the MotoGP World Championship as it celebrated its fifth consecutive constructors’ title – and third in a row for riders – with some impressive records at the 2024 Barcelona Solidarity GP.
As Pramac Ducati’s Jorge Martin became the first rider in the modern era of MotoGP to be crowned champion with a “satellite” team (Valentino Rossi had last achieved this in the 500cc era in 2001) – factory Ducati celebrated another manufacturers title.
Of the 20 races of the season, Desmosedici GP bikes won 19 and took 16 pole positions. Behind Martin, factory Ducati’s Peco Banaia, Gresini Ducati’s Marc Marquez and also “factory” Enea Bastianini “locked” the Bologna company’s impressive 1-2-3-4 in the riders’ championship.
At the same time, Ducati monopolized all three podium positions in 14 GPs of the year, while in 6 of them the top five of the final ranking rode a “Desmo”. Thus, this year the Italian company became the first non-Japanese motorcycle manufacturer to surpass 100 victories in the top motorcycle class.

Jorge Martin’s title is Ducati’s third in a row – following Peco Banaia’s two in the past two years – and fourth overall for the company, joining Casey Stoner’s 2007 championship.

Peco won more matches but Jorge was more persistent and in the end he is rightfully the Champion.
