‘I’m going step by step, I’ve made sure to cope as best I can and that’s why I’m here’

Yiannis Karakostas spoke before the games of the National team with Great Britain (21/11, 21:30 and 24/11, 18:30) for his qualifications EuroBasket 2025, he explained that he wants to evolve step by step and noted that if he wants to become better every day.

For his call to the National Team: “Whatever I say is little, it’s an honor, I’m very happy to be here, whatever is asked of me I’m ready to do. We have three days to prepare and go to EuroBasket. We have a big game on Thursday and then again on Sunday”.

On the fact that he is in the National and Stoiximan GBL, while last year they were playing in the Elite League: “I don’t see it as a leap, it’s step by step, it’s not a leap. I don’t look at it like that, I look at training, getting better every day and I believe that everything will come with work.”

For the Youth National Team and his entry into the Men’s National Team: “I tried to cope as best as I could with the role given to me by Mr. Papadopoulos. From what I understand, the people of the national team would see something and they would like me, that’s why I’m here. It’s an honor.”

For the talent and pool of the National Basketball Team: “I don’t think I’m qualified to say that, but I think we’re starting to work properly, like big schools all over Europe are working. I think there are kids and with time more and more will come out.”

For Great Britain: “They are a great opponent, we have three days to work for the first match and I believe we will be ready and competitive.”
