Gary Neville took a playful jab at Manchester City during a live watchalong of the Arsenal vs. Manchester United match on The Overlap, which featured other football pundits such as Jamie Carragher, Roy Keane, and Ian Wright. As the panel discussed the ongoing match, Neville made a comment aimed at City’s home attendance, saying, “Oh, we’ve been joined by 32,000 people. That’s more than City get at home init.” The remark was a lighthearted dig at City’s fanbase, implying that their attendance numbers at the Etihad Stadium might be lower compared to those of other clubs.

Carragher and Wright were quick to laugh at Neville’s joke, which clearly resonated with them. Neville followed up by suggesting that City’s fans might not be watching the game, as they were likely at the stadium for their own team’s match against Nottingham Forest. This comment added to the playful nature of the exchange, with Neville taking a swipe at City’s fan engagement during their matches.

Meanwhile, Manchester City were in action themselves, securing a solid 3-0 win against Nottingham Forest at the Etihad. Goals from Bernardo Silva, Kevin De Bruyne, and Jeremy Doku helped City earn the victory. De Bruyne, who had been recovering from injury, received praise for his performance, particularly after contributing a goal and an assist. Former City defender Jen Beattie commended his effort on BBC Radio 5 Live, highlighting how impressive it was for De Bruyne to return to form after his injury layoff.
