Finally and officially Obradovic

Saša Obradovic and Monaco ended their partnership on Monday afternoon (18/11), with the club officially announcing their divorce from the Serbian coach.

The Monegasques have decided to stop their joint course with the 55-year-old coach, due to the negative results from the beginning of this season, to confirm the publications of the last hours. The defeat at Le Mans on Sunday (17/11) was the “last straw”, with the crowd, in fact, erupting in boos after the end of the race.

“Monaco and Saša Obradović have decided to end their partnership by mutual agreement. Saša Obradović has worked tirelessly since the beginning of this adventure in December 2021, after a first pass from 2019 to 2020. He won two French championships, one Cup, reached the EuroLeague Final Four once and qualified for the EuroLeague playoffs twice.

Saša Obradović’s name has been written forever in the team’s history. The management and staff sincerely thank him for the work he has done. Manoutsar Markoishvili will take over as official. Thanks for everything coach Sasha!” Monaco said in its statement.

Obradovic took charge of Monaco for the second time in December 2021 and with him at the “helm” they won two French championships (2023, 2024) and reached the EuroLeague Final Four for the first time in 2023. He made his first stint in the 2019- 20. Manoutsar Markoishvili takes over as interim coach for the Monegasques, until the successor of the technical leadership is found.
