Fenerbahce left Kaunas with a double, beating Zalgiris 72-65 for the 10th matchday of the EuroLeague.
Fenerbahce reached its fifth straight victory in the EuroLeague on Friday night (15/11), winning 72-65 her Zalgiris in Kaunas for the 10th matchday of the competition.
The Turks set the stage for an escape from Lithuania in the second period of the game, when they took a 17-point lead with a 26-5 aggregate score. Trinkeri’s side fought back, turned the match into a thriller, but failed to complete the big upset. A blow for Jasikevicius’ team, which saw Tarik Biberovic injured in his left leg and limping off the pitch.

The fight
Lonnie Walker was “hot” in the beginning of the game with 9 points (2/2 3-pointers, 1 layup) in five minutes (14-8, 5′). Fast pace in the match, a three-pointer by Sirvidis (21-14, 9′) and Zalgiris ahead at the end of the first period (21-17, 10′).
17-2 run by Fenerbahce, Guduric scored centrally from 8 meters (23-25, 12′) and Zagars brought the Turks to +11 (23-34, 15′). Goodrich’s shots made up 26-43 (20′) and +17 of the guests at the end of the first half, who used their dominance in rebounds (13-24, 3-9 second-chance points).

With 6″ to go and the score tied at 65-68, Francisco took a three-pointer from eight yards out but missed. Fenerbahce withstood the pressure and left Kaunas with the win in a game who struggled without Wilbekin, Baldwin and Hall.
