The Youth National Team suffered a 1-0 defeat by Italy in Heraklion with a goal in the 87th minute and stayed in 3rd place knowing the elimination from the Elite Round of Euro U19.
The Youth National saw Italy walk away with a 1-0 win in Heraklion thanks to a penalty in the 87th minute and combined with Montenegro’s win in the other game they were unable to make it to the Euro U19 Elite Round.
The only goal of the match came from Camarda who slotted home the penalty won by Feeney three minutes before the final whistle of the match.
In the other group game, Montenegro beat Bosnia/Herzegovina 3-2 to finish in 2or position of 8u group, leaving Greece third and denying them qualification.

Given what happened in the second game, maybe we should have managed differently today against Italy, in which we could have scored in the 1st half. We knew that only 3-0 in our favor would be a sure result for qualification, but you can never take chances with such a good team.
What I keep is the effort of the children and the fact that what we are trying to pass we were able to and implemented within a few days. We also saw that our players have understood what the National Team stands for, they fight on the field for the best possible, this is a team that enters the games to make a contribution of soul. I am pleased with their effort.
I won’t see the kids for a while as this journey is over, but I believe the foundation is there for us to build the next generation. There is talent, there must be continuity.
