OLYMPIC
Giannoulis Larentzakis admitted that he is not happy that he has a smaller role at Olympiacos in this year’s EuroLeague, however, making it clear that the team is above all else and he must be ready to help whenever he is asked.
Giannoulis Larentzakis spoke to the media ahead of tomorrow’s (21/11) match between Olympiakos and Baskonia (21:15, Novasports Prime and LIVE from SPORT24) for the 11th matchday of the EuroLeague, as well as the fact that international players are invited to choose between the clubs and the national teams in the “windows” of FIBA.
Larentzakis stated in detail:
For the match with Baskonia: “We want to continue with this momentum, we currently have a very good mentality, we are working well, we have got the results we want and I believe that tomorrow we will show the right face and the seriousness and energy required for the match”.
For his limited role in the EuroLeague this season: “I try to work every day, stay at a good pace and level, so that when needed I can help. It’s certainly not the most pleasant, but the team is above all and whenever I’m asked, I have to be ready to help too.”
Because players have to choose between club and national team: “There’s been a lot of talk about this, I don’t think it’s right for a player not to play in either game.
At some point a solution must be found, because it’s something nice for all the players to play, all the games, those who can, when there are no issues of injuries and to help both the teams and the Nationals”.
