The Greek national team have lost just two of their last 24 home games and have not conceded a goal as a home team for more than 280 minutes, with their performance guiding them to the game against England on Thursday (14/11, 21: 45, ALPHA, LIVE MATCHCENTER SPORT24).

With momentum gained from their four wins so far in League B of the Nations League, the Greek national team welcomes England on Thursday at crowded OAKA (14/11, 21:45, ALPHA, LIVE MATCHCENTER SPORT24) aiming to lock down the first place in the group.

The blue and white have built a very positive tradition on Greek soil since in their last 24 games as home team they have experienced just two defeats.

In that time, our representative group has only been beaten by Spain in November 2021 for the World Cup qualifiers and by the Netherlands in October 2023 for the Euro qualifiers, both defeats coming by 1-0.

To reach this performance, Ivan Jovanovic’s side have used their defensive solidity as a weapon. More specifically, Greece has not conceded a goal at home for 286 playing minutes, i.e. a little more than three games.

FOOTBALL

The last goal conceded by the Greek national team as a home team came in November 2023 with Youssouf Fofana beating Odysseus Vlachodimos in the blue and white’s 2-2 draw with France. This performance is the best for our representative group since October 2013 when they went on a streak of 617 minutes without a clean sheet.

In the same period, since the draw with the 2022 World Cup finalist, Ivan Jovanovic’s team has won four in a row on Greek soil, with individual scores of 12-0.

Furthermore, Greece are on the longest winning streak of any European team in all competitions, with five consecutive victories and are looking for a sixth in a row, something they have not achieved for more than a decade and especially since November 2023.
