Liverpool will be without one key player for its upcoming Premier League clash due to suspension.

The Reds are set to face off against Everton in the much-anticipated Merseyside Derby on Saturday afternoon, with a clear aim to bounce back to victory.
Arne Slot‘s squad experienced a slight setback midweek, as they were held to a 3-3 draw by Newcastle United at St James’ Park. Despite this, Liverpool still hold a seven-point lead over Arsenaland Chelsea in the Premier League standings, and a nine-point advantage over Manchester City

Mac Allister is the first Liverpool player this season to serve a suspension for accumulating five yellow cards in the Premier League. After the 19th league fixture, the threshold will rise to 10 bookings.

With 14 games already under their belt this season, Liverpool have five more matches before the five yellow card limit increases to 10. These next five fixtures will pit the Reds against Everton, Fulham, Tottenham Hotspur, Leicester City and West Ham, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Ibrahima Konate also has four yellows this season, but as he’s currently injured and not expected back for a few weeks, he’s unlikely to return before the threshold increases after the West Ham game on 29th December.

Four Reds players – Trent Alexander-Arnold, Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez and Dominik Szoboszlai – are all on three yellow cards.

If any of them receive two more bookings in the next five games, they’ll face a one-match suspension, just like Mac Allister.
