Jorge Sampaoli is officially the new coach of Rennes, with the French club’s management announcing a deal with him until the summer of 2026.
After the divorce with Julian Stéphane, the management of Rennes had gone to the market for a coach and Jorge Sampaoli was among their first choices, with Renois finally reaching an agreement with him and making it known that they had signed a cooperation contract until summer of 2026.
“We are all very happy that Jorge is joining us, as he is a coach recognized internationally for his professionalism and humanity. I am delighted with his arrival in Rennes,” initially emphasized the president and general manager of the club, Arnaud Ruiguet, to add:
“He has a strong bond with his players, with his partners. He is a loyal and dedicated person. We need his energy to get the club back on their feet and face their rivals with determination.
During our conversations, we immediately appreciated his love for the game and his willingness to champion a collective project.
Jorge and his staff’s vision for building a club is clear and the entire sports administration shares the same analysis of what we need to apply: passion for work, rigor in effort, loyalty, respect for people and the institution.”
It is noted that Sampaoli has a long coaching track for more than 30 years, with his last job being Flamengo where he was hired last April and from which he left at the end of September.
