Showcasing dynamic performance and top-notch reliability with its all-new electric version (Interstar-e), the newest member of Nissan’s LCV range will soon be available in European markets.
The new generation Interstar is designed to deliver what you would expect from a world-class large van, while complying with city policies on pollution and air quality. Nissan’s new van is the perfect solution for professionals operating in urban areas looking for an easy transition from one job to another, with an efficient and reliable model.
Like all Nissan vans, the new generation Interstar comes with a 5-year or 160,000 km warranty. For the electric version Interstar-e, the warranty for the battery is 8 years or 160,000 km. The new Nissan Interstar is Nissan’s first purely electric large van, while it is also available with a diesel version. As we move towards the electrification of all Nissan LCVs by 2027, the launch of the Interstar is a real milestone for the company.
The 100% electric model has a 40kWh battery, ideal for urban transport, as well as an 87kWh option that ensures top range to meet even the most demanding needs. With a maximum DC charging speed of 130kW for the 87kWh battery, it offers up to 252 km. autonomy in just 30 minutes. Also available with a standard 11kW AC charger for both battery options or an optional 22kW AC charger for the 87kWh battery.
The brand new Interstar charges from 10% to 100% in less than 4 hours. The new van is even offered in a 4.0T version that supports a load of more than 1.5 tons. To meet the diverse needs of van buyers, the all-new Interstar is also available with a range of efficient diesel engines. Equipped with the M920 engine already used in other Nissan models, the Interstar offers up to 170PS of power and 380Nm of torque.
The upgraded diesel engine reduces fuel consumption by an average of 1.5lt/100km, with a combined consumption of up to 7.4lt/100km, allowing customers to travel further while reducing the frequency of refueling. Customers can choose between a 6-speed manual transmission or the new, more refined and efficient 9-speed automatic transmission, enjoying flexibility and control for different driving preferences.
The Interstar is based on the tradition of an already popular van, while its spaciousness and flexibility are features that set it apart from its predecessors. With a larger loading space of up to 3,855 mm. depending on the wheelbase and a 1,312 mm wide side door, loading cargo has never been easier in the new Interstar. The all-new Interstar offers capacities ranging from 10.8 m3 in the L2H2 version to a maximum of 14.8 m3 in the L3H3 version.
With a maximum towing capacity of 2500 kg, customers can carry even larger loads to meet the varied needs of their daily lives. Furthermore, the new Interstar offers a very competitive payload of up to 1,925 kg for the ICE version of the van and up to 1,625 kg for the EV version. The ICE chassis version provides a payload of up to 2,150kg, with the EV equivalent managing up to 1,925kg.
This ensures that whatever the job, Interstar has you covered – a wide variety of products and goods can be loaded without fear that the model will let you down when it comes to space, or delay the urgent deliveries necessary for business success. The new van also features top-notch aerodynamics, with a 20% improvement in drag coefficient (SCx) over the previous generation Interstar.
In this way, customers can save fuel or electricity and maximize the autonomy and performance of their business. The all-new Interstar will be available with multiple different factory options, including Tipper for those who need easy loading and unloading of materials, Dropside for unobstructed access to the cargo area, and Box for customers who need as much covered cargo space as possible.
The Interstar also features improved manoeuvrability, with a reduced turning radius of 1.2 meters (depending on version) compared to previous models. This makes driving on narrow city streets noticeably easier, without affecting the van’s load-carrying ability. At the same time, the new generation Interstar upgrades the user experience inside, thanks to a completely redesigned, spacious and modern cockpit that offers comfort, convenience and a welcoming environment for drivers and passengers.
An additional storage space of 135 liters (depending on the version) in the cabin offers solutions for customers who need extra space, while it is also equipped with modern technologies such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The highly flexible interior allows for a variety of work possibilities, regardless of the field of activity. Want to turn your van into a mobile office? The all-new Interstar is the solution, offering everything you need in comfort and style.
Interstar drivers enjoy greater confidence as our latest model is equipped with Nissan’s latest safety technologies. These include Forward Emergency Braking and Electronic Stability Programme, Lane Keep Assist, or Traffic Sign Recognition, and many other technologies that were not present in previous Interstar models. Another interesting addition to the new Interstar is the innovative 1-box braking system.
This electronically managed hydraulic system saves weight, improves braking power and provides users with consistent braking performance regardless of van load. Enhanced efficiency is also provided in the electric versions through energy regeneration during braking. When it comes to the Interstar’s safety capabilities, the all-new version recently distinguished itself, receiving the highest ratings in the EuroNCAP Safety Ratings, with an impressive “Platinum” distinction.
