Israel pulled off a surprise 1-0 home win over Belgium, but failed to avoid relegation to League B of the Nations League after finishing 4th in the group standings.

Belgium suffered an unexpected 1-0 defeat at home to Israel, however, on goal difference, it was the visitors who remained third in the League A standings in Group Two and are now one of the possible opponents of Greece in the playoffs.

The “Red Devils” did not convince with their image in the first part. They moved the ball comfortably around Israel’s area, but they couldn’t really threaten.

The hosts tried to strike a few times on the counter, but the six shots they attempted did not particularly worry Castells.

In the replay, Belgium raised their possession levels even further, laying siege to Israel. Of course, he did not manage to turn the opportunities he created into a goal.

From the moment Israel kept a clean sheet in defence, they looked for the goal up front and found it, with Yarden Sua opens the scoring with a direct shot into the box, punishing an inefficient Belgium.
