‘More than double the cost and this is what we are struggling to cure’

[ad_1]

Tension was observed during the last Board of Directors of the Municipality of Athens, with Kostas Bakoyannis submitting a question about the facilities of Erasitechnis Panathinaikos and the mayor, Haris Doukas, talking about more than doubling the cost.

The way for Panathinaikos to move to its new home, in Votanikos, has been opened, however, the disagreements that exist within the political world of the country regarding the greens’ field problem do not say that they will end.

One of these took place on Monday night (11/11) at a meeting of the Municipality of Athens, with Kostas Bakoyannis asking to know about the progress of the works regarding the facilities of the Amateur Panathinaikos and the current mayor Haris Doukas talking about more than double cost than originally estimated.

In detail what Haris Doukas supported:

“Let me say something about Panathinaikos, I don’t want Mr. Bakoyannis to go back to the past when you said that he would enter the stadium in 2023 and ’24. For Arashitechnis, the Presidential Decree says final acceptance of the project 12/31/24 This means that when I took over, the Amateur’s field would be in its final stage, just before its final acceptance.

I understand it’s an inadvertent numerical error. Because both pitches have to be completed at the same time, it doesn’t make sense to have one on 12/31/26 and the other on 12/31/24, because one Amateur pitch will be two years old and wait for the other pitch in disuse. So, this is your mistake, which we are trying to fix.

I don’t come to apologize, but to correct and move forward. But I also say something else: You, Mr. Ganos, Mr. Koutris and others, after a lot of trouble, presented the definitive study of the Erasitechnis stadium. And to the question of the journalists and all the fans, “what is its cost?”, you said that we are not able to answer that.

I don’t know how much the cost is, but I don’t know that a final field study doesn’t have a cost. Even pre-studies have a budget. And I say this to show that there is a very big difficulty here. Then came a letter showing a cost more than double.

We’re talking about after a year from May ’23, of the post and branch presentation of the study at no cost. And this is what we are struggling to cure, so that it is done as it should be, with the right contexts and fully serves the needs of the Amateur. So let’s correct problematic omissions of the past.”
