Filip Mladenovic’s Achilles tendon problem has kept him out of the Serbia national team and sent him back to Athens for treatment

Filip Mladenovic injured his Achilles tendon in the 75th minute of Panathinaikos’ match against Lamia at OAKA last Sunday (10/11) and as it turned out the problem was serious enough to keep him out of the Serbian national team.

The 33-year-old left wing-back (who was not called up in the previous two international “windows” by Dragan Stojkovic) was examined by the Serbian medical staff and it was decided to sit out the next two games against Switzerland and Denmark for the Nations League.

“Mlande” returned on Wednesday (13/11) to “G. Kalafatis” and began treatment without yet determining the time period he will be out.

Tin Gedvai also followed a treatment program due to the sprain that is bothering him, while Magnusson was offloading. The rest’s schedule consisted of warm-ups, development drills with finishes and half-court play.

Absent were the international Bakasetas, Ioannidis, Vagiannidis, Cerin, Sporar, Maksimovic, Dragovski, Ingason, Pelistri and Unai.
