Bayern Munich and Joshua Kimmich are still on the negotiating table to extend their partnership, but the German midfielder is not willing to take a cut in his wages.
The negotiations between Joshua Kimmich and Bayern Munich have lasted for many months and now this game of chess has entered its final stretch.
Joshua Kimmich, who in the past has attracted the interest of many big clubs such as Barcelona and Real Madrid, seems to be leaning towards the option of staying in Munich.
On the other side of the chessboard, the Bavarians see that they have come close to achieving their goal, but there is still a thorn in the contacts with the 29-year-old.
Vincent Kompany’s side are keen to significantly reduce the size of their roster contracts, but Kimmich, who is currently paid €20m a year, is not in the least discussing the possibility of downsizing.
It remains to be seen if Bayern will stick to their decision to make a wholesale change to the players’ wages or if they will finally give in to the player’s demands.
