‘It is a great honor and a great responsibility to be in the National Team, I wish every child to experience it’

Michalis Lountzis spoke ahead of the matches of the National team with Great Britain (21/11, 21:30 and 24/11, 18:30) for the EuroBasket qualifiers and explained that it is a great honor and responsibility to wear the jersey with the national emblem.

The guard of Prometheus wished every child to live the experience with the “blue and white” and noted that what the internationals have to do is to put the young children in the mood and let them understand what the National team means.

For his call-up to the National team: “Big honor. Now a little while ago I found out. I had no idea, big honor, big responsibility. It’s something that every kid like me dreams about since they’re little and start basketball and see how many legends have worn this jersey and how heavy it is her. So it’s a great honor.”

For the number of games: “The truth is that there have been too many games in the Euroleague and too many obligations. One game is after the other, without having time to rest and think. Surely the windows give the opportunity to many children to become members of the national team team and live it.. So it’s something very nice and I wish it to every kid. We have a lot of new kids today. So all we have to do is get them in the mood as soon as possible and they understand what is a national team”.

For the matches with Great Britain: “We play in London first. They will certainly be very strong games against a very good and worthy opponent. We don’t expect anything easy. But we will train and go into these two games with nothing less than two wins in mind.”
