Bad relations between Turkey and Israel have resulted in Besiktas’ Europa League home match with Maccabi Tel Aviv being moved, with UEFA announcing that the match will be played in Hungary.

The wild incidents that took place on the sidelines of Ajax – Maccabi Tel Aviv, between Muslims and Israeli fans, caused the European Football Federation to be alarmed, and this is because there is another match smelling of gunpowder in two weeks.

It is Besiktas – Maccabi Tel Aviv in the context of the 5th matchday of the League Phase of the Europa League, with the cold relations between Turkey (Erdogan) and Israel (Netanyahu) leading to a change of venue and the match on November 28 being decided to held in Debrecen, Hungary.

This decision was announced on Monday (11/11) by UEFA, citing security reasons, with the Hungarian local authorities even announcing that the specific match will take place without the presence of fans in the stands.
