INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL
Former UEFA president and former Juventus and Italy ace Michel Platini has come out against the use of VAR in football, citing the fact that fans have nothing to argue about.
Michel Platini was not a keen supporter of the idea of implementing technology in football and the same is true now, after several years of using VAR.
In an interview he gave to the Italian website “Sportmediaset“, the former president of UEFA made it clear that the reason he does not agree with the “invasion” of this technology in the world of the black and white round Goddess is that the fans no longer have reasons to…disagree.
“I am against VAR, now the fans have nothing to argue about. I am not in favor of a situation that makes football more complex.
It solves problems and removes conflicts. I would only use it for the goal and offside. Where the referees can’t see.
Fouls should be decided by the referees.” characteristically emphasized the former leader of Juventus and the French national team, to then refer to his beloved Vecchia Signora:
“I watch it from afar because I don’t watch the games in France. I don’t know the players and a little bit about the agents.
After 40 years, the fans of my era no longer exist. But when Juventus wins I’m always happy.
Motta believes he can solve the Bianconeri’s problems, we’ll see at the end of his career.”
