I will love to play for Man United – €80m-rated Sporting CP star sends clear Ruben Amorim message amid Manchester United transfer links

Since Ruben Amorim’s arrival at Manchester United, speculation regarding the future of Goncalo Goncalves (known as “Pote”) at Sporting Lisbon has been increasing. Reports suggest that a reunion between Amorim and Pote might be possible, as Amorim has expressed admiration for the 26-year-old winger, whom he managed at Sporting.

The Daily Mail has previously highlighted Pote as a player to watch in the upcoming transfer window, particularly with Manchester United’s interest. However, despite these rumors, Amorim has already stated that he will not be looking to bring any of his former Sporting players to Old Trafford in the January transfer window. This effectively rules out a winter transfer for Pote. Nonetheless, it is believed that a move for the winger could materialize next summer, when the transfer window opens again.

Pote is set to remain sidelined until 2025 due to injury, which diminishes the likelihood of him making a move in the winter window. This situation might benefit United, as they could secure his signature at a later stage without competing with other clubs during the mid-season transfer frenzy.

Sporting Lisbon has reportedly set a hefty price tag of £66 million (€80 million) on Pote, a valuation that reflects his talent and importance to the team. Amorim himself has praised Pote’s quality, claiming that he is capable of playing for any team in the world, and that he could fit seamlessly into any squad. This endorsement further fuels the belief that Amorim might push for a transfer for the winger in the future, particularly if United decides to act next summer.
