Max Verstappen blamed the Brazilian Grand Prix stewards for the fact that he will start from 17th place.
The three-time Formula 1 world champion and 2024 Formula 1 points leader has lashed out at race officials at the Brazilian GP, effectively blaming them for the fact that he will start from 17th in today’s (03/11) fight.
The Dutch Red Bull Racing driver addressed the accident handling of Lance Stroll, who went off the track and crashed into the barriers at the end of Q2.
The 27-year-old, in his comments after the end of his effort, insisted that the red flag did not come out immediately, resulting in the 40-second delay putting him out of Q3.
So he was 12th in qualifying and combined with the five-place penalty for the engine change, he will start 17th.
“The car hit the wall, which means they had to show the red flag straight away. I don’t understand why it takes 40 seconds for a red flag.”said furiously Verstappen.
