Red Bull Racing director Christian Horner believes Max Verstappen’s duel with Lewis Hamilton is highly likely to be revived next year in Formula 1, as he believes “Ferrari is a team that is gaining ground and getting stronger”.

Two months before Lewis Hamilton’s arrival in Maranello to complete what many have described as the “transfer of the century”, F1 has witnessed the meteoric rise of Scuderia Ferrari into the sport’s leading force.

The Italian team have won 3 of the last 6 Formula 1 GPs, and could have won two more through no fault of their own, so they are now in contention for this year’s constructors’ title in the sport’s final three races of the year, until on December 8.

Given that the sport’s technical regulations will remain unchanged for 2025, it is very likely that the Italian team will maintain the same speed achieved next year to claim the two championships – drivers and manufacturers – in the new year. When now in the garage next to Charles Leclerc will be Lewis Hamilton.

Red Bull Racing director Christian Horner seems to think so too. Speaking to Talksport, the Brit said that Hamilton “he leaves an environment where he had found his comforts. OR Mercedes it was a place he had known well for more than ten years. It will be a big change for him.

A driver of such range will always be a formidable opponent. Charles Leclerc is also another very fast driver. OR Ferrari is a team that seems to be gaining ground and getting stronger. Lewis may have arrived at just the right time.

He noticed specific things that led him to the decision of changing the team and believing in its future Ferrari. It will be exciting to see what happens.”concluded Christian Horner. And it remains to be seen if, with Lewis in another team, the titanic Verstappen-Hamilton battle for another driver’s championship can be repeated in 2025.
