Manchester City are ready to detonate the bomb and extend Erling Haaland’s contract until 2029, permanently killing other clubs’ appetite for the Norwegian.

According to the Daily Mirror, the “citizens” want to make their striker the highest paid player in the Premier League.

The 24-year-old striker’s monthly earnings are currently €450,000, but Pep Guardiola’s side will raise that figure to €600,000 in order to convince the player to stay at the club beyond the 2026-27 season, when he expires the existing contract.

Of course, this increase will come at a price for Haaland, as there is one condition to sign the new contract.

According to the information, City fear that due to the Norwegian’s terrible numbers in England and Europe, the release clause of €180 million may no longer be enough and will therefore need to be increased to €240.
