Viktor Gyokeres has now turned into a goalscoring machine, with the Sporting forward finding the net four times in Sweden-Azerbaijan to take his tally to 32 goals this season and 58 in 2024.
Viktor Gyokeres was one of the hotly debated players last summer after his stunning 2023-24 season with Sporting and courted by a number of clubs for a move, with the Swedish international striker remaining a resident “Jose Albalade” and break all the… counters.
His latest performance came on Tuesday night (19/11) in Sweden’s resounding 6-0 thrashing of Azerbaijan that sealed the Scandinavians’ promotion to League B of the Nations League, with the 26-year-old striker finding the net four times and now boasts several records.
And this is because he is now the top scorer in the last Nations League as well as in this year’s Champions League, while at the same time he can be proud of the fact that he is the top scorer in the Primeira Liga with the “Lisbon Lions” and also top in assists in the Nations League.
The impressive thing is that he now has 32 goals this season in all competitions (at club and national level) and has been involved in 39 goals (goals + assists) while in 55 matches he has taken part in this calendar year, he is counting the unimaginable number of 58 goals and 16 assists.
