Bafetibi Gomis announced his retirement from active action after a 22-year career with a significant presence on the French and English pitches.

Titles of the end of his career were put by Bafetibi Gomis at the age of 39. The French striker thus completed a career full of performances at a high level.

He took his first step in Saint-Etienne, where he stayed for 7 consecutive years, while earlier a short transfer from Troyes had also occurred.

In 2009 he took the big step, getting a transfer to Lyon for 13 million euros, a very large amount by the standards of the time. With Lyon, he scored 95 goals and 22 assists in 244 matches.

Then followed Swansea, Marseille and Galatasaray. In 2018 he made the trip to Saudi Arabia for Al-Hilal. The last shirt worn by the Frenchman is that of the Japanese Kawasaki Front.

His final tally after a 22-year career is 783 matches, in which he scored 347 goals.
