Ferrari’s triumphant 1-2 at the 19th Formula 1 race of the year reignited the Scuderia’s hopes for this year’s constructors’ championship as Max Verstappen’s third-place battle with Lando Norris extended his lead for the drivers’ title.

With the highly controversial decision by the stewards to hand Lando Norris a 5-minute penalty for passing Max Verstappen three laps before the end of the US GP, the Dutchman’s gap to the Englishman at the top of the drivers’ championship has increased to 57 points, 5 GPs and 2 Sprints before the end of the championship.

Meanwhile, Ferrari’s 1-2 with Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz moved the Italian team just 8 points behind Red Bull Racing, who are now 40 points adrift of constructors’ championship leaders McLaren. Therefore, this will be a three-way battle for the tag team title.
