The Cupra Leon VZ TCR is set to make its racing debut in the US in 2025, as its run in the respective European races gives the company the “confidence” it needs for a good run.
The Cupra Leon VZ TCR, launched in 2024, took the brand’s racing philosophy to a new level. The new body, aligned with the brand’s new design language, front axle tuning, Sadev gearbox upgrade kit, suspension and interior improvements have contributed to the car’s success in various races around the world.

The model has participated in 42 races in the last months, showing its performance and reliability. The Cupra Leon VZ TCR has taken the podium at prestigious circuits such as: Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium), Estoril (Portugal), Brno (Czech Republic) and Imola (Italy). So now, he is ready to take part in IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge 2025.
It is one of the most important and historic events in the USA. The IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge features WSC Touring Car Racing models with engines tuned to produce between 300HP and 350HP and at speeds in excess of 260 km/h. The IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge features racing cars from the world’s leading manufacturers, with internationally recognized technical specifications.
It features two classes of competitors – Grand Sport (GS) and Touring Car Racing (TCR) – with multiple drivers sharing the same car in each race. The Cupra Leon VZ TCR will compete in the TCR class against four-door or five-door production vehicles, in the 1.75-liter to 2.0-liter turbo engine class.
Teams participating in the championship will be able to choose the Cupra Leon VZ TCR for the next 11 races, starting at Daytona International Speedway in Florida on January 17.
