Adam Cerin’s own goal drew Austria level, giving Norway top spot in the group, which won with five goals from Kazakhstan after a Haaland show.
Austria failed to gain promotion to the first division of the Nations League and Adam Cerin was responsible for this development, as he equalized for the final 1-1, giving first place to Norway who scattered Kazakhstan to the five winds, with Haaland scoring a hat-trick.
Austria outplayed Slovenia in every area for most of the match, from possession, creating dangerous chances to shots attempted (22). Romano Schmidt opened the scoring in the 27th minute, but the home team could not find the back of the net after that.
Once they were two goals down, Panathinaikos’ Adam Cerin punished them, scoring in the 81st minute for what should have been the final score of 1-1, a result that dropped Austria to second place in the group.
On the other hand, Norway did not refuse Slovenia’s gift and after crushing Kazakhstan by five, with Erling Haaland even scoring a hat-trick, they rose to the top spot, taking the ticket to promotion to the first division of the Nations League.
