Brony James’ first appearances in the G-League were very bad.
When the Lakers took him with the No. 55 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, everyone knew they were doing a favor for LeBron James, who wanted to become the first player in NBA history to play with his son.
Brony James (20, 1m.88), however, is not a basketball player who can stand in the NBA. And as evidenced by his early appearances in the G-League, he’s struggling to carve out a role even at this lowest level of the sport.
In his first game with the South Bay Lakers, against the Salt Lake City Stars, Broney had 6 points on 2/5 2-pointers, 0/4 3-pointers and 1/1 shooting, three rebounds, four assists, two steals, one block, three fouls and five turnovers in 31 minutes.
In the second game, against the Stockton Kings, he had 4 points on 2/8 2-pointers, 0/2 3-pointers, no shots, two rebounds, two assists, one block, two fouls and one foul in 26 minutes.
In total, in these two games, he had 10 points on 4/19 shooting and 1/1 shooting, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks, 6 turnovers, 5 fouls and all this in 57 minutes of participation. We remind you that in the Los Angeles Lakers he is in a Two-Way status, while in the G-League he will only participate in the home matches of the South Bay Lakers.
In his only NCAA season with USC, Brony James averaged 4.8 points (26.7% from three), 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists per 19.3 minutes in 25 games.
