Brathwaite does not give up the attempt to buy Espanyol

Espanyol and Martin Brathwaite may have had an acrimonious divorce last season, but the emotional ties between player and club remained strong.

The Danish centre-forward had many complaints from the club’s management about the way he handled his contract extension and for that reason the 33-year-old subsequently left for Gremio.

However, last August the former Barcelona player first expressed his desire to buy Espanyol and thereby free his beloved club from the shackles of the current management. Since then, no activity of the footballer in this direction has been known.

But according to Mundo Deportivo, the Dane has already sent emissaries to meet with other potential investors in Boston to evaluate the possibility of taking over Espanyol.

It is recalled that Brathwaite has real estate businesses in the United States and has even appeared on the Forbes list of the richest athletes in the world.
