After just one year in the NCAA, Cooper declared for the 2021 draft. He was selected 48th overall by the Atlanta Hawks. He played in 13 games with the NBA team and spent most of the season in their G-League affiliate, College Park Skyhawks where he averaged 17.1 points, 4.0 rebounds and 6.9 assists.
The next two years (2022-24) the 23-year-old guard belonged to the Cleveland Cavaliers and played in their affiliate, the Cleveland Charge. In the first year he averaged 21.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and 6.3 assists, earning a place in the second best five in the league and the second 19.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 7.6 assists and 1.6 steals.
In the 2023-24 season, he played in the Chinese league for the Liaoning Dinosaurs with 11.6 points, 2.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists, and this year he previously played for Turkey’s Merkezefendi Belediyesi, with 15.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game.”
