Wissam Ben Yedder was on trial for sexual assault and attempted rape and was found guilty, with the court deciding to impose a two-year suspended prison sentence, among other things.
Wissam Ben Yedder’s football career was thrown into a thousand pieces a while ago and none other than the 34-year-old French striker himself was responsible, as he recently found himself on the bench after examining the evidence against him for the charges of sexual assault and attempted rape.
The Prosecutor who handled the high-profile case proposed jailing the French international forward for 18 months, with an additional 1.5 years suspended, with the trial concluding in mid-October and a bitter verdict for the 34-year-old a month later.
According to the “RMC” report, the player was found guilty of the charges of sexual assault and attempted rape and was given a two-year suspended prison sentence and will also be ordered to pay restitution to the victim in the amount of 6,500 euros (5,000 for moral damages and 1,500 euros for legal expenses).
On top of that, the French footballer was fined €5,000 for refusing to comply with police instructions to stop his vehicle when he was asked to pass a test, and his driving license was suspended for the next six months .
