DEAB announced that it imposed a one-match suspension on AEK Betsson because its fans lit smoke bombs inside the stadium in the away match against Prometheus, and that it called for an apology the “yellow and black” KAE and two natural persons regarding violence related to sports.
Prometheus’ match with AEK Betsson and what happened on and off the pitch seems to be occupying the news for some time to come. The latest development came from the DEAB (Permanent Committee to Combat Violence).
As it was announced, AEK Betsson was given a penalty of one match behind closed doors because the fans of “Enos” lit up smoke bombs in the stadium – which led to one of the five interruptions of the match and finally to the evacuation of the stadium, while at the same time an apology was called on the “yellow and black” OEM, as well as two natural persons, regarding – as emphasized in the announcement – “with phenomena of violence/serious incidents, related to sports that allegedly took place”.
It is recalled that Prometheus’ match against AEK Betsson for the 7th matchday was episodic on and off the pitch, with the first interruption coming just 2:29 after the start of the match for abusive slogans, while in one of the following interruptions a member of the team was removed AEK from the armchairs, with Makis Angelopoulos asking the reason.
Then came the dismissal of Dragan Sakota, the evacuation of the stadium by the police after the use of smoke bombs by “Union” fans – which led to incidents – and the dismissal of Mindaugas Kuzminskas and a series of announcements, from AEK, Prometheus and ELAS, which ultimately led to the intervention of DEAB.

“The Standing Committee on Combating Violence (SCC) announces that:
-Calls on Monday, 24/11/2024, the AEK NEA KAE 2014, as well as two (2) natural persons, regarding violent phenomena/serious incidents, related to sports and which allegedly took place inside the Indoor Gymnasium of Patras, “Dimitrios Tofalos”, during the basketball match PROMITHEAS PATRONS KAE – AEK NEA KAE 2014, held on 16/11/2024 for the 7th matchday of the 1st phase of the Stoiximan GBL championship, Men’s Category, organized by E.S.A.K.E, season 2024-2025.
Application of Article 9 of Law 5085/2024.
– With Act No. 34/2024, it imposed, at the expense of AEK NEA KAE 2014, the administrative sanction of holding one (1) sports meeting as the home team, without the presence of spectators in any National event, as its fans lit smoke bombs inside the stand during the PROMITHEAS PATRON KAE – AEK NEA basketball match KAE 2014, held on 16/11/2024 at the Indoor Gymnasium of Patras “Dimitrios Tofalos”, for the organization of the 7th competition of the A’ phase of the Stoiximan GBL championship, Men’s Category organized by E.S.A.K.E. , period 2024-2025.
