Comfortable passage from Vitoria for Monaco (75-87), which looked unbeatable for three quarters against Baskonia. At 6-4 the Monegasques, at 4-6 the Spaniards.

Monaco dominated for three quarters in Vitoria against Baskonia and that was more than enough for Obradovic’s side, who prevailed 87-75.

Mike James and Eli Okobo did the job for Monaco. Moneke, Hall and Sendekerkis stood out for the Basques, but it was not enough. Rogavopoulos stopped at 11 points (2/5 three-pointers, 4 rebounds), Papagiannis at 8 (2/2 three-pointers, 5 rebounds).

Baskonia fell to 4-6, Monaco rose to 6-4 in the EuroLeague standings.

The fight

Impressive start from Monaco who did everything they wanted on the floor in the first period, which they closed with a 24-7 margin. Saša Obradovic’s team kept their foot off the gas and the difference quickly exceeded the 20-point barrier. Monaco closed the half at +23 (24-47), which largely reflects the picture of the first part.

Baskonia made its counterattack in the third period, where with a partial 31-14 cut the difference to six points (55-61), showing that it was willing to fight the match until the final. Somewhere there, however, Monaco stepped on… the gas again, not wanting to get into adventures, and cleaned up with the victory.
