Four times England has come to face our National Team, having the same number of victories. Just one goal for our representative group with Dimitris Saravakos.
Our national team will host England in a full OAKA with the aim of at least a draw to take a very important step towards achieving first place in the Nations League group.
Our representative group achieved their first victory over the three lions last October and are looking to continue the positive results.
The national team has a negative tradition in home games as well, as it has not managed to get even a draw, while it has just one goal and that too in a friendly.
What have we done against England in our country
Even before the battle at Wembley, Greece had better memories on English soil than at home games.
In total, he has hosted England four times, three of them in an official game and one in a friendly. In the friendly match, it was the only goal we have scored in Greece.
On February 8, 1989, we hosted the English at OAKA with Dimitris Saravakos scoring from the white bullet. Barnes replied in the seventh minute and Bryan Robson in the 79th minute completed the upset.
The first game was at Georgios Karaiskakis for the qualifiers for Euro 1972. The English prevailed with two goals in the second half from Hurst and Chivers, while in the first round they had beaten England 3-0.
Then came the battle in Kautanzoglio for the qualifiers for Euro 1984. The national team was defeated 3-0 thanks to goals from Woodcock and Lee. In England, of course, the blue and white managed to leave standing thanks to a 0-0 draw.
The last time England came to Greece was 23 years ago, on October 6, 2001. Coached by Sven Goran-Eriksson, the Three Lions ran away with the double thanks to goals from Scholes and Beckham in the second half.
