The Los Angeles Rams tend to build their roster through the NFL draft, but they’re no strangers to making big moves in free agency. They’ve landed some marquee players in the last eight years, from Andrew Whitworth and Robert Woods to Ndamukong Suh and Bobby Wagner.
They’ve already been aggressive this offseason, ensuring Matthew Stafford, Alaric Jackson and Tutu Atwell will remain in Los Angeles for at least one more year. The Rams also agreed to a two-year deal with Davante Adams, giving the veteran receiver a $44 million contract.

Rams re-sign CB Ahkello Witherspoon to 1-year contract

Rams officially release Cooper Kupp
The Rams made it official on Wednesday, cutting Kupp and designating him as a post-June 1 release. That frees up $15 million in cap space this year but adds a $7.48 million dead cap charge in 2026. They also won’t get the cap relief until June, so they’ll have to wait a couple of months.
Demarcus Robinson leaves to sign $9.5M deal with 49ers

OLB Michael Hoecht lands 3-year deal with Bills
Hoecht was the Rams’ No. 3 edge rusher last season but he’s heading across the country to Buffalo. He agreed to a three-year deal worth up to $24 million, joining one of the Super Bowl favorites in the AFC after winning a ring already in LA.
Rams plan to release Cooper Kupp if he isn’t traded
One way or another, the Rams plan to move on from Kupp. He’s expected to be released after the start of the new league year on Wednesday if the Rams can’t find a team to trade for him.
DT Bobby Brown III to sign with Panthers
Brown has agreed to a three-year deal with Carolina, which will pay him $21 million and up to $27 million including incentives. Brown was a stout defender for the Rams but he hinted at wanting an opportunity to rush the passer more, which he should have the chance to do in Carolina.
TE Hunter Long agrees to deal with Jaguars
The Rams have lost their first free agent of the week. Long has agreed to a two-year deal worth up to $6 million with the Jaguars, following James Gladstone to Jacksonville. Long joined the Rams in 2023 as part of the Jalen Ramsey trade.
Rams agree to 3-year deal with NT Poona Ford
Needing help in the middle of their offensive line, the Rams landed on Poona Ford. They agreed to a 3-year deal worth up to $29.6 million with the nose tackle who played for the Chargers last season. This likely signals the end of Bobby Brown III’s career with the Rams, as he’s also a pending free agent.
Rams closing in on deal to reunite with Coleman Shelton
According to ESPN, the Rams are closing in on a deal with center Coleman Shelton, who spent the first five years of his career in Los Angeles. He started 32 games for the Rams from 2021-2023 before signing with the Bears last offseason.
Jimmy Garoppolo agrees to 1-year, $11 million deal with Rams
The Rams made it clear they wanted to keep Garoppolo in Los Angeles and that’s what they’re doing. He agreed to an $11 million deal to remain with the Rams for another season, backing up Stafford again.
Jets could target OLB Michael Hoecht in free agency
According to The Athletic’s Zack Rosenblatt, Hoecht is an “under-the-radar free agent to keep an eye on” for the Jets. It doesn’t mean Hoecht is certain to leave and the Rams could still look to bring him back, but it’s a situation to monitor.
Rams, Davante Adams agree to $44 million deal
Even after signing Atwell to a one-year deal, the Rams kept adding to their receiving corps. They agreed to a two-year deal with Adams, giving him $44 million – including $26 million guaranteed. It’s effectively a one-year deal worth $20 million, though, so they could get out of it after the 2025 season.
Tutu Atwell gets $10 million fully guaranteed from Rams
Atwell looked like he may not be returning to the Rams after being underutilized for four seasons in Los Angeles, but he opted to stay. He got a big raise, too, earning a one-year deal worth $10 million fully guaranteed.
Rams tender OL Dylan McMahon as ERFA
The Rams tendered McMahon as an exclusive rights free agent, bringing him back for the 2025 offseason. He’ll get a chance to compete for a roster spot this summer, though the ERFA tender doesn’t have any guaranteed money so he could be cut at any time.
Alaric Jackson signs 3-year, $57.75 million extension with Rams
Jackson re-signed with the Rams before the start of free agency, landing a three-year extension worth $57.75 million. The good news is the Rams kept his cap hit low in 2025, only coming in at $7 million. He’s been a stud along the offensive line and will remain the starting left tackle moving forward.
Matthew Stafford agrees to reworked deal to remain in Los Angeles
Before the Rams made any moves, they needed to work out Stafford’s contract, and that’s exactly what they did during the week of the combine. The terms of his deal haven’t yet been revealed, but it’s a revision of his current contract, only with a “significant raise” in 2025.
