LIONEL MESSI
Paraguay’s FA has banned fans from wearing Lionel Messi or Argentina jerseys in their World Cup qualifier against Albiceleste.
On Friday (11/15), the Argentine national team faces Paraguay away from home for the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup in the Latin American zone.
According to Radio La Red, Paraguay has banned people from wearing Lionel Messi shirts and will not allow entry to anyone who does not comply with this regulation.
The country’s Federation does not want anyone wearing the Argentina star’s shirt to be present at the Defensores del Chaco stadium in Asuncion, whether it is for Argentina, Barcelona and Paris, or Inter Miami.
“Fans wearing jerseys from the Argentina national team, the Barcelonathe Paris or Inter Miami, with Messi’s name on the back, will not be allowed to enter the stadium,” said Fernando Villasboa, director of the Paraguayan football federation, adding:
“No one will be allowed to wear a shirt from the Argentine national team, from Argentine clubs or from clubs with names of players from other countries.
We want to paint Defensores del Chaco in the colors of our team, so that the players feel the support of the fans.”
