Panathinaikos reached a definitive agreement with Fotis Ioannidis for a new contract until the summer of 2028.
Panathinaikos and Fotis Ioannidis have joined hands to continue their partnership until 2028, with the Greek striker expected to sign a golden contract.
The technical director of the greens, Yiannis Papadimitriou, had a meeting with the representatives of the team leader on Wednesday (13/11) and the two sides reached a full agreement for Ioannidis to remain in the clover for another four years and to triple his salary.
It is noted that in this meeting the details of the agreement were actually settled after Fotis Ioannidis had definitively shaken hands with Yiannis Alafouzos in a meeting they had about a week before the derby with Olympiakos at OAKA.
Fotis Ioannidis signed for Panathinaikos in August 2020 from Levadeiakos and has since made 158 appearances for the club, scoring 41 goals and providing 14 assists. The best season of his career so far was in 2023/24 when he recorded 23 goals and 9 assists in 44 games.
Ioannidis, who is now the captain of Panathinaikos, has won two cups with the clover, in 2022 and 2024, while in 2023 he was named footballer of the year at the PSAPP awards. In September 2022, he made his debut with the Greek National Team and in 13 matches with the national team he has scored five goals.
