Liverpool has recently seen some positive injury updates, with key players such as Alisson, Diogo Jota, and Federico Chiesa returning to action. However, several other players remain sidelined, and their recovery timelines are critical for the club’s busy season ahead. Here’s an update on the injuries and suspension statuses of a few notable players:

Ibrahima Konaté

Konaté, the French central defender, sustained a knee injury in the final moments of Liverpool’s victory over Real Madrid in late November after a collision with Endrick and Virgil van Dijk. Initially, it was estimated that Konaté would be out for about 5-6 weeks, meaning he would miss the majority of December’s fixtures. Manager Arne Slot confirmed that both Konaté and Conor Bradley would be out for several weeks, although he also mentioned that recovery timelines can change as the injury process progresses. Expected return date: January 2025.

Conor Bradley

Bradley, the Northern Ireland international, also picked up an injury in the same match against Real Madrid. He suffered a hamstring issue during the second half of that game. His recovery timeline is similar to Konaté’s, with a reported absence of approximately six weeks. Slot has reiterated the challenges in predicting the exact duration of Bradley’s recovery, given the nature of hamstring injuries. Expected return date: January 2025.

Kostas Tsimikas

Tsimikas has been out since early November due to an ankle injury, but he resumed training last week and is now nearing a return. His absence has been felt, especially with Andy Robertson filling in for him during this period. The Greek full-back may return to action soon, with his potential comeback expected either in the December 18 match against Southampton or the December 22 match against Tottenham.

Andy Robertson

Robertson, who has been a constant presence in the Liverpool lineup during Tsimikas’ absence, will miss the next match due to a red card he received in the 3-3 draw against Fulham. He will serve his suspension during the Carabao Cup fixture against Southampton. However, Robertson will be available for Liverpool’s Premier League clash against Tottenham on December 22.

Alexis Mac Allister

Mac Allister has been unavailable for Liverpool’s last two matches due to suspension. He missed the Champions League encounter against Girona and the Premier League match against Fulham. His last appearance for the team was during the 3-3 draw with Newcastle on November 4. Mac Allister is expected to return to action for Liverpool’s match against Southampton on December 18.

Summary of Key Return Dates:

  • Ibrahima Konaté: January 2025
  • Conor Bradley: January 2025
  • Kostas Tsimikas: December 18 (vs Southampton) or December 22 (vs Tottenham)
  • Andy Robertson: December 22 (vs Tottenham) after serving suspension
  • Alexis Mac Allister: December 18 (vs Southampton)

With several key players returning and others still in recovery, Liverpool’s squad depth will be tested as they navigate a hectic winter schedule, particularly as they balance league and cup commitments.
