‘We have shown that we can make the right choices against every opponent and at every venue’

Christos Tzolis found the net in the second half of the Greek national team’s match against Finland in Helsinki and made the final 2-0.

In his statements after the end of the match, the international winger emphasized that the blue and white had a good second half in a difficult venue.

“For sure we are very happy. We played a good second half in a difficult venue. We did our duty after losing to England. We wasted our chances but we didn’t manage to get the top spot. We have shown in all six games that we can do well things”.

On what he dedicated his goal to: “To my family, to my relatives who see me from Thessaloniki”.

Where he owed this goal to: “I owed it to Demi Nikolaidis. He had told me before the game against England, he told me today too, I owed it to Demi.”

On whether they were thinking about the possibility of the National Team moving up to the second capacity group in the World Cup qualifiers: “We were thinking about everything. We were thinking about winning, taking first place, but we didn’t succeed. A win is a win, it gives extra points, the presence in the second capacity group, everything is positive.”

On what Ivan Jovanovic told them at halftime: “To be a little more efficient, to make the right pass, the right energy in the last third of the pitch. Indeed, we entered the second half better and scored soon. We showed that we can make the right choices in every venue, with every opponent.”
