Chelsea superstar Sam Kerr and his partner, West Ham’s Christie Mewis, are expecting their first child, they announced in an emotional post on social media.
Chelsea centre-forward Sam Kerr and West Ham midfielder Christie Mewis have announced they are expecting their first child. The two Women’s Super League players, who got engaged last year, announced the news via a social media post on Monday (18/11).
Posting a collage of black and white photos, Kerr wrote: “Miwis and Kerr’s baby is coming in 2025!”. In one of the images, the couple is seen holding an image from an ultrasound scan. In another, Kerr points to Miwis’ belly.
Several WSL players were quick to congratulate the pair, with England international and Manchester City star Chloe Kelly and Arsenal midfielder Leah Walty writing: “Congratulations to both!”.
Mewis has made one appearance for West Ham this year – against Manchester United in the Premier League in September. On the other hand, Kerr has been out of action since January due to a torn cruciate ligament.
