After his victory in Portaria, AEK president Marios Iliopoulos will return to the racing bucket of the Ford Fiesta this weekend (12-13/10) for the Omalou Climb – aiming to make this year’s 6/6 and one more step to defend the title of Climbing Champion.
In a break from his constant involvement with AEK, Marios Iliopoulos will travel to Crete for the next three days to compete in the 18th Omalou Ascent, on the route Fournes-Lakkoi on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 October 2024.
The president of the Union aims to achieve with his specially modified racing Ford Fiesta his 6th consecutive victory this year in the same number of races of the Climbing Championship, with the ultimate goal of continuing the series of championships he has won in recent years in the top category of the institution, FST.
Racing action on the Omalou Climb will begin at 11:30 on Saturday morning (12/10) with the official timed trials. The next day, Sunday 12 October, the match will start at 11:00 am. and each competitor will make two climbs on the 4km route of the Omalou Climb.
