Former Ohio State coach Urban Meyer again addresses coaching rumors

It seems like whenever a big-time college football job comes open, former Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer sees his name lobbed about as a potential candidate. No matter that Meyer has now been removed from the college game for seven years now, and has a pretty cushy job with Fox’s Big Noon College Football crew.

So far, during the 2025 college football season, there are eight Power Four jobs open before we even hit November. Premier Jobs like Penn State, Florida, and LSU are vacant and will draw a lot of interest from the top candidates out there, but according to Meyer, that ship seems to have sailed.

When talking to Cleveland TV reporter Kellyanne Stitts, Meyer seemingly took his name out of the running for any job besides the one he has on television today. “I don’t have a desire (to coach),” Meyer told Stitts.
